South Africa’s ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC) has responded to suspended Secretary-General, Ace Magashule’s statement that suspends president Cyril Ramaphosa as the party’s president.
ANC National Spokesperson, Pule Mabe says the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) will be meeting this weekend and will accordingly respond to the Secretary-General. He said:

The African National Congress notes the letter written by the Secretary-General Comrade Ace Magashule to the President of the ANC Comrade Cyril Ramaphosa.
The decisions of the National Executive Committee and National Working Committee stand.
The NFC, will he meeting over the weekend and will accordingly respond to the Secretary-General.
The ANC request that the Secretary-General respect the decisions of the NEC and subject himself to the discipline of the organization.
Magashule was suspended after refusing to step down from his position pending an outcome of court proceedings in his corruption, fraud and money laundering case.
He defied the suspension which he described as fatally flawed and issued a statement in his capacity as the party’s Secretary-General, suspending Ramaphosa.
