Karoi Town Engineer Succumbs To COVID-19
Karoi Town Council engineer, Oswell Mazvimbakupa (45) died Thursday morning due to COVID-19 complications.
Mazvimbakupa’s death was confirmed by the Council administration officer, Hastings Makunda. He told NewZimbabwe.com:
Yes, we have lost the engineer who was recently diagnosed positive of COVID-19. We are currently making necessary arrangements for his funeral to be held at his residence at the council’s Shambatungwe farm here in Karoi.
FeedbackThe government recently imposed a localised COVID-19 lockdown on Hurungwe District, which encompasses Karoi, to stop the spread of the virus.
Hurungwe District police commander, Chief Superintendent Helena Mahonde said Tuesday police were worried at the sprouting of shebeens in and around the town.

She revealed that law enforcement agents had arrested scores of shebeen operators.
The government has also placed Makonde District under a localised COVID-19 lockdown after scores of new positive cases were reported.
Makonde became the third district in Mashonaland West Province to face such a measure after Hurungwe and Kariba.
