Embakwe High School Teachers Removed From COVID-19 Quarantine
Four teachers at Embakwe High School in Mangwe district, Matabeleland South province who tested positive to COVID-19 before schools closed for the first term on 4 June, have now been removed from quarantine.
The development was confirmed by Plumtree district medical officer Dr Joe Nganono during a telephone interview with Chronicle. He said:
We tested everyone at Embakwe High School before schools closed and all the students tested negative but the four teachers out of the 25 tested positive. The four were then put on quarantine.
FeedbackIn April, Embakwe High School was put under quarantine after more than 90 people, including pupils and teachers, tested positive to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education communications and advocacy director Taungana Ndoro said that schools are being disinfected to ensure they are safe before the opening on 28 June.
