Divine Lunga Set To Move To Mamelodi Sundowns
KickOff.com reports that Divine Lunga is set to move to Mamelodi Sundowns upon the expiry of his contract at Golden Arrows at the end of this month.
A long-time target of Sundowns, Lunga will finally make the switch from Arrows on a free transfer ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The 27-year-old has reportedly agreed to personal terms, which essentially means the deal is already done in principle.
Lunga spent the past three years at Abafana Bes’thende, having joined them from Zimbabwean club Chicken Inn back in 2018, and managed a total of 84 appearances.
He has for long been a subject of interest, with Arrows understood to have turned down offers from Turkey and the Middle East in the past.
He is now expected to report at Chloorkop on July 5 when Sundowns start their pre-season preparations.
At Sundowns, the Zimbabwe international will have Lyle Lakay and Aubrey Modiba for competition, with the future of veteran left-back Tebogo Langerman hanging in the balance.
With The Brazilians set to return to the CAF Champions League for an eighth consecutive time next season, the club has found reason to make squad reinforcements.
Mamelodi Sundowns are also reportedly interested in luring SuperSport United winger Kudakwashe Mahachi back to the club ahead of next season.
Mahachi (27), joined Sundowns from Highlanders back in 2014 with a reputation as one of Zimbabwe’s brightest prospects but failed to establish himself at the club.
