ZANU PF acting political commissar Patrick Chinamasa says he is recovering well at a private hospital in Harare after he was involved in an accident on Saturday night.
Chinamasa’s car crashed into a truck that was carrying scrap metal around 6:45 pm at the 12-kilometre peg after Rusape, before the tollgate.

Speaking to The Herald from his hospital bed on Monday, Chinamasa said he is feeling much better and could be discharged soon. He said:
The doctor is monitoring my situation to see if I do not have some internal injuries. I am fit and ready to go.
I am only waiting for the doctor to monitor my chest otherwise I might be discharged anytime from now.
The former Justice Minister said he escaped death by the skin of his teeth but urged people not to panic. He added:
I was saved by the airbags, otherwise, we will be talking about something else.
