Prince Dube Misses Out On Golden Boot In Tanzania
Warriors striker Prince Dube has missed out on winning the Golden Boot in the Vodacom Tanzania Mainland Premier League.
The Azam forward sustained a groin injury that will see him miss his team’s final league encounter against Ruvu Shooting at Mabatini Stadium in Dar es Salaam this Sunday.
The former Highlanders striker will finish the season with 14 goals, with the race left to the Simba Sports Club duo of John Bocco who leads the race with 15 goals and Meddie Kagere who has found the target 12 times.
Dube (24), has not played for Azam since his injury in their Azam Sports Federation Cup quarterfinal 3-1 victory over Rhino Rangers at the end of May.
Missing out on today’s fixture means that Dube would have sat out four of his team’s last league fixtures, scuttling his hopes of winning the Golden Boot in his first season in the East African country.
