The Warriors technical department has drafted a 27-man squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers (WCQ).
Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic said they have already come up with names for the back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Ethiopia in a few weeks time. He said:
About the criteria for the players to play next month, it’s a bit tricky because we are coming from the offseason, most of them started preseason four weeks ago.
But we are going to call most of the players we have used already before. We have made the list of 27 players and waiting for a response from the clubs and COVID-19 restrictions (issues) because Zimbabwe is still in the red zone.
But we are Warriors and we have to find a way out.
Meanwhile, reports suggest the Croat has dropped locally-based players from the squad for the upcoming games due to the inactivity of the local league due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Loga had wanted to infuse some of the fringe players who did duty at the recent COSAFA Cup tournament in South Africa, into the main Warriors squad.
