Man Arrested For Impersonating VP Chiwenga To Get Free Medication

A 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly using vice president Constantino Chiwenga’s name to get free medical care at two medical centres in Harare.
Marlon Katiyo, who is of no fixed abode, was arrested on Wednesday, 1 September 2021 and appeared in court on Thursday morning facing fraud charges.
Katiyo used four different names to avoid detection. Two of the names he used were General Chiwenga and Dominic Chiwenga.
Dominic is one of vice president Chiwenga’s middle names.
The accused also used different residential addresses to avoid debt collectors.
Harare Magistrate Dennis Mangosi remanded him to Friday 3 September 2021 for bail application.
