No Sports, Entertainment At ZITF
The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) says it has shelved sport and entertainment activities for this year’s trade expo in order to follow strict COVID-19 prevention regulations.
The ZITF Company has said as part of measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, children would not be allowed to attend this year’s show. Said ZITF deputy chief executive officer Stella Nkomo:
We are not going to have any sport or entertainment at the main arena. This is part of the safety measures being enforced this year.
FeedbackWe sat and said we have to compromise on a few activities and one of those things was to say we will do away with main arena activities.
Most of these activities are targeted at kids so without the kids it’s difficult to have an audience for some of these entertainment activities.
Events such as the Coca-Cola Four-Minute Mile, Ingwebu Tug of War competition and Mr ZITF are some of the sport codes that have kept crowds entertained on public days of the expo but will not be there this year.
This year the show is running under the theme: Showcasing the New Normal for Business and Industry: Realities and Opportunities.
It will run from 21 to 24 September.
