The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing to members of the public to assist authorities with any information that can help in solving robbery cases that happened in Harare, Masvingo and Beitbridge between Sunday and Tuesday. ROBBERY CASES IN HARARE, MASVINGO, BULAWAYO AND BEITBRIDGE.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of robbery cases which occurred in Harare, Masvingo, Bulawayo and Beitbridge between 26 and 28 September 2021.
In the first case, Police in Harare are investigating a robbery case which occurred on 26 September 2021 at Agricorn Equipment, along Coventry Road. Eight unidentified suspects armed with unknown number of pistols attacked two security guards who were manning the premises before tying their hands and legs with shoelaces. The suspects stole US$43 000 cash from the finance director’s office after they broke the locking system of the cash safe using two angle grinders which they took from the workshop.
In a related case, Police in Masvingo are investigating a case of robbery which occurred on 27 September 2021 at Chigwanga Supermarket and Mai Tina General Dealer shop, Neshuro Growth Point Mwenezi. Two unidentified suspects pounced on employees of Chigwanga Supermarket and stole a cellphone, US$400 as well as ZAR 20 000 cash from the till points. One of the suspects shot the security guard who was manning the supermarket and seriously injured him on the hand and abdomen.
After the incident at Chingwanga Supermarket, the suspects went to Mai Tina General Dealer shop where they robbed the shop owner and her shop attendant ZAR 1000 and a cellphone.
Meanwhile, Police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of robbery which occurred on 27 September 2021 at two CSC Compound Cement Side houses. Three unidentified suspects who were armed with an unknown pistol, machete and axe pounced on the complainant at his homestead and stole US$155 cash as well as three cellphones. The suspects left the first complainant’s house and went to the second complainant’s house where they broke the main door using stones to gain entry. They ransacked the house and stole US$680, ZW$2700, laptop and three cell phones.
In another case, Police in Beitbridge are investigating a robbery case which occurred on 28 September 2021 at New Medium Density suburbs. Eight suspects who were armed with an unidentified pistol, metal bar and button sticks attacked the complainant at his house before stealing US$1500, ZAR 2500 cellphone, two pairs of shoes, power pack and wristwatch. The suspects went on to steal ZAR 300 and US$20 from the complainant’s cousin who was also at the house.
Another robbery case, occurred at Medium Density suburb, Beitbridge on 28 September 2021, where seven unidentified suspects pounced on four complainants at their house and broke a built-in cash safe before stealing US$2500, ZAR 5000, laptop, cellphone as well as various jewellery valued at ZAR 10 000.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police warn robbery syndicates that operations to account for all suspects are in full swing and will ensure that all criminals involved in robbery cases are brought to justice.
