Chief Ashel Wasi Ndiweni of Mangwe district in Matabeleland South Province, has died aged 90.
The young brother and family spokesperson, Leo Ndiweni, confirmed the death to CITE. He said:
The Chief died at his home at Macingwane in Plumtree, Thursday, at around 11 AM. He was 90 years old and he was of ill-health of late.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced as the family is still waiting for other family members to arrive before finalising the burial programme. Added Ndiweni:
We are just coming from the District Administrator’s office. We are still waiting for other family members to come from outside the country then we agree as a family on when the work can be done.
We expect that at least by Sunday we would have come up with a date.
