PICTURES: 105 Housing Units Constructed For Cyclone Idai Victims
The Permanent Secretary of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana, has updated the nation on progress made in rehabilitating families affected by Cyclone Idai in 2019.
The Cyclone destroyed homes and lives of people and livestock mostly in Manicaland and the Southern parts of the country. The government in conjunction with other stakeholders have been constructing houses to shelter the affected survivors. Pindula News presents Mangwana’s update on the progress made.
CHIMANIMANI Chimanimani Disaster Recovery Housing Project (Runyararo) is in progress with the objective to provide shelter for families affected by Cyclone Idai.
FeedbackIt is targeting 224 housing units. To date 105 units have been constructed, 20 are at various stages of completion.
Survivors have for the past two years been living in temporary shelters at camps where they were overcrowded.
