Horse Dance: Watch Kuda Mahachi Celebrates AFCON Goal Against Guinea

Kudakwashe Mahachi scored Zimbabwe’s second goal as the Warriors defeated the Naby Keita-led Guinea in a dead rubber Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals Group B match played last night in Cameroon.

Mahachi, horses in English, made it 2-0 after skipper Knowledge Musona had scored the opener.

The match ended 2-1 after Liverpool forward, Naby Keita pulled one for the Syli Nationale which is Susu for “National Elephants.” Watch the video below for more:

The match did not guarantee Zimbabwe’s stay at the tournament after losing the first two matches of the group stage.

Fans say Zimbabwe could have proceeded to the last 16 stage had coach Norman Mapeza played Mahachi in the first two games.

This reiterates remarks that were made ZIFA presidential aspirant, Alois Bunjira and former Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwaru who said Zimbabwe needed a Khama Billiat-like player. Bunjira told Pindula News following the Warriors 2-1 loss to Malawi:

We needed (Kuda) Mahachi more than any other player who was available today. We needed a Khama Billiat-type of a player who would make defenders run thereby removing pressure from our strikers.

Khama Billiat retired from international football under unclear circumstances leaving fans furious. They said he should have retired after the AFCON but some say he certainly had strong reasons considering that he always expressed his plesure in representing Zimbabwe at such stages.
