HCC: Only Fines And Penalties Were Increased By Between 300 To 400 Percent
Harare City Council (HCC) has said the 2022 budget only increased fines and penalties by between 300 to 400 percent to discourage illegal activities. The local government authority said this means that residents who remain within the confines of the law will not be affected by the charges that are meant to be deterrent. Charges for clinic and hospital services have not been increased to promote access to health by all.
Fines and penalties have been increased by 300-400% to promote compliance and stop illegal activities.
The US$ in the budget are payable in ZW$ at the auction rate.
The Consolidated budget was ZWL$32 715 billion and the 2022 budget is ZWL41 873 billion.
