Zimbabwe first recorded a Coronavirus case in March 2020. Since then, many people have contracted the virus. Many recovered, but some succumbed to the novel virus. Pindula News presents the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe prepared by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 08 March 2022:
• 633 New Cases (All local) and I Death reported today. (7-day rolling overage* for new cases raises to 496 from 475 (yesterday). 125 of the new cases reported today are from outbreaks detected from schools in Mash East (53), Manicaland (29), Masvingo (25), Mosh Central (17), and Mash West (1).
• Vaccination Update: 2 107 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 377 690, 1 890 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 411 384 while 2 553 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 144 326.
• As of 7 March 2022, @1500hrs there were (67) hospitalised cases: New Admissions (5), Asymptomatic (4), mild to moderate (56), severe (7) and (0) in Intensive Care Units.
• 5 116 tests done today (Positivity today was 12%).
• 481 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 96% & Active cases go up 5 279.
• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 240 343 Cases 229 664 recoveries & 5 400 Deaths.
