Zimbabwe Coronavirus Update: COVID-19 Deaths Rising - 09 March 2022
Zimbabwe first recorded a Coronavirus case in March 2020. Since then, many people have contracted the virus. Many recovered, but some succumbed to the novel virus. Pindula News presents the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe prepared by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 09 March 2022:
• 706 New Cases (All local) and 7 Deaths reported today. Deaths reported by Harare province are late reporting, the deaths occurred on 4 March (2), 6 March (1) and 7 March (3). (7-day rolling overage* for new cases raises to 506 from 496 (yesterday). 143 of the new cases reported today are from outbreaks detected from schools in Masvingo (44), Mash West (42), Mash East (31), Manicaland (17) and Mash Central (9).
• Vaccination Update: 4 807 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 382 497, 3 246 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 414 630 while 5 495 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 149 819.
Feedback• As of 8 March 2022, @1500hrs there were (60) hospitalised cases: New Admissions (8), Asymptomatic (4), mild to moderate (50), severe (6) and (0) in Intensive Care Units.
• 5 347 tests done today (Positivity today was 13%)
• 250 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 96%, & Active cases go up 5 728.
• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 241 049 Cases 229 914 recoveries & 5 407 Deaths.
