Zimbabwe first recorded Coronavirus cases in March 2020. Since then, thousands of people have been diagnosed with respiratory disease, thousands have died and also thousands have recovered. Pindula News presents an update issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 24 March 2022:
• 273 New Cases (All local) and 2 Deaths reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases falls to 208 from 221 (yesterday). 25 of the new cases reported today are from outbreaks detected from schools in Man. (13), Mash West (10) and Bulawayo (2).
• Vaccination Update: 115 008 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 700 828, 6 000 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 458 864 while 16 944 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 217 032.
• Today we are happy to report that 115 008 people county-wide received their 1st Dose bringing the cumulative doses to 4 700 828.
• As of 23 March 2022, @1500hrs there were (40) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (10), Asymptomatic (4), mild to moderate (36), severe (0) and (0) in Intensive Care Units. 17 of the 40 hospitalized were vaccinated and 23 were not vaccinated.
• 3 453 tests done today (Positivity today was 8.0 %)
• 591 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 96% & Active cases go down 3 937.
• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 245 467 Cases, 236 096 recoveries & 5 434 Deaths.
