Zimbabwe first recorded Coronavirus cases in March 2020. Since then, thousands of people have been diagnosed with respiratory disease, thousands have died and also thousands have recovered. Pindula News presents an update issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 4 April 2022:
• 87 New Cases (All local) and 5 Deaths reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases falls to 98 from 101 (yesterday). 6 of the new cases were detected in schools in Bulawayo Province.
• Vaccination Update: 44 658 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 5 558 545, 8 855 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 567 193 while 22 224 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 468 764.
• As of 03 April 2022, @1500hrs there were (30) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (3), Asymptomatic (4), mild to moderate (22), severe (3) and (1) in Intensive Care Units. 6 of the 30 hospitalized were vaccinated and 24 were not vaccinated.
• 2 759 tests done today (Positivity today was 3.2%)
• 152 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 97% & Active cases go down 2 304.
• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 246 612 Cases; 238 857 recoveries, and 5 451 Deaths.
