Stunner In Court For Assaulting His Wife Over Phone
Musician Stunner, born Desmond Chideme, appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court on Tuesday on allegations of assaulting his wife Dyonne Tafirenyika (23), in a dispute over a cellphone.
Chideme (41) was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate, Evelyn Mashavakure.
The issue of bail didn’t arise because Chideme was not coming from police custody.
The magistrate remanded him out of custody to 11 May for the start of the trial.
Prosecutors allege that the assault incident occurred on Sunday, at around 2 AM at Rainbow Towers where Stunner was performing.
The couple had retired to their room for the night when Dyonne allegedly went to the toilet.
Chideme followed her and forcibly pulled her out of the ladies’ toilet and dragged her to the parking bay.
He demanded that Dyonne hand over her phone, an iPhone 13 Pro Max but she refused to comply and hid the phone.
This did not go down well with Chideme who started assaulting her until she collapsed.
Chideme allegedly forcibly removed Dyonne’s artificial nails and she started bleeding from her nails and nose.
However, no medical affidavit was attached because she refused to get medical attention after the alleged assault.
