Mohamed Salah Wins English Premier League Award
Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Footballer of the Year for 2021/22.
The 29-year-old Egyptian is currently the top goalscorer in the English Premier League having contributed 22 goals and 13 assists in just 31 Premier League games.
Salah’s other statistics are impressive: he is ranked first for expected goals (21.97), he is also first on assists (13), number one on touches in the opposition box (310) and he is ranked second on expected assists (7.27).
The Egypt international has been involved in 30 goals and 14 assists in only 44 matches in all competitions.
He is the current top scorer in the Premier League after netting 22 times, five more than Heung-Min Son (Tottenham Hotspur) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United).
Liverpool are second in the table, just a point behind champions Man City with just five games left this season.
The Reds have won the League Cup and have reached the final of the FA Cup and the semi-finals of the Champions League.
