Zvishavane Couple Loses Ford Ranger, Cash To Robbers
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported that a Zvishavane couple lost US$8 000 to armed robbers on Tuesday night.
Police say the robbers broke into their house and demanded cash and valuables.
Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told The Herald that the lost cash and property are worth a combined value of US$8 000.
He said the robbers woke everyone up and locked them in one room before demanding cash and valuables.
Mahoko said the robbers who had a pistol each found US$260 on the victim, Mr Takura Muwondiri’s house before they demanded car keys to a Ford Ranger double cab which was parked in the yard. He added:
They then drove away in the vehicle, a Ford Ranger double cab reg ADL3090. The total value of stolen items was US$8 000.
He said police were yet to catch the suspects.
Police continue to urge members of the public not to store huge amounts of money at home or other premises that are not banks since they will be risking losing it.
They also say usually insiders know about cash being stored at home.
