President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s condolence message following the passing on of Shinzo Abe, the former Prime Minister of Japan who was recently assassinated.
Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe died on Friday after being shot at a campaign event in the western city of Nara, near Kyoto. READ President Mnangagwa’s condolence message below:

It was with profound sense of shock and grief that I received the devastating news of the assassination of Mr Shinzo Abe, former Prime Minister of Japan.
On behalf of the Government and people of Zimbabwe, and on my own behalf, I extend to you and through you, to the Government and people of Japan, as well as the Abe family, our deepest condolences on his tragic death.
Mr Abe will always be remembered for his tireless efforts in promoting world peace.
In Zimbabwe, we will cherish the cordial bilateral relations with Japan, that blossomed during his tenure as Prime Minister.
May His Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
