The Zimbabwean government has issued a statutory instrument (145 of 2022) which introduces new charges for the voters roll.
Essentially, the voter’s roll is now for sale and those looking for a copy will need to the government for it. While the prices are pegged in US dollars, they are payable in the local ZWL at “the official market rate”
The charges are as follows:
Prices of an electronic copy of Voter’s Roll
- Poling station: US $10
- Ward: US$15
- Constituency: US $50
- Provincial: US $150
- National: US $200
Prices of hard copy of Voter’s Roll
- A black and white hard copy is US $1 per page.
Prices of an electronic copy of the map
- Polling Area: US $20
- Ward: US $25
- Constituency: US $30
- Provincial: $60
- National: $150
There have been complaints from the public recently that ZEC has been refusing to provide the voter’s roll.
