The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has announced local authorities’ by-elections venues and accreditation fees for observers. In a statement seen by Pindula News, ZEC Chief Elections Officer Utloile Silaigwana said accreditation of successful candidates will be conducted from 29 August 2022 up to 03 September 2022. Reads the notice:
LOCAL AUTHORITY BY-ELECTIONS ACCREDITATION VENUES
It is hereby notified for public information that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is establishing accreditation venues for the 03 September 2022 Bulilima RDC Ward 1, 14 and 16 Local Authority by-elections. The accreditation of successful applicants shall be conducted between 8 am and 4 pm at the following venues commencing on 29 August 2022 up to 03 September 2022.
PROVINCE: Matabeleland South Province
VENUE: Bulilima RDC Stand Number 220 Station Road, Plumtree.
ACCREDITATION FEES
• Local observers USD10 or ZWL equivalent at prevailing Bank rate.
• Observers from the continent of Africa – USD100
• Observers from foreign Embassies in Zimbabwe — USD300
• Observers from any country outside Africa — USD400
• Zimbabwean media practitioners accredited with the Zimbabwe Media Commission and working in Zimbabwe for foreign media houses —USD 100
