ZESA Explains Increased Load Shedding Hours

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of power utility ZESA Holdings, says there will be increased load shedding countrywide from 12 to 16 September 2022.

In a public notice, ZETDC said the increased power cuts have been caused by depressed generation and increased demand.

ZETDC said its engineers are working round the clock to ensure full restoration of service. It said:

Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company would like to advise its valued customers countrywide that there will be increased load curtailment from the 12th to the 16th of September 2022.

This is due to depressed generation on the grid coupled with increased electricity demand as a result of increased economic activities.

Our Engineers are working round the clock to ensure full restoration of service.

Customers are advised to use electricity sparingly and to always switch off electrical appliances when not in use.

Since Monday, electricity consumers in most parts of the country have to endure long hours, at times up to 16 hours, without electricity.
