A document suggesting that former Vice President Kembo Mohadi received 1 960 litres of fuel from the government to conduct ZANU PF business has caused a commotion on social media.
Award-winning journalist Hopewell Chin’ono that the allowance is “evidence” about the “conflation of the State and ZANU PF.”
ZANU PF has for long been accused of abusing state resources t champion party goals and objectives. Chin’ono posted on social media on 28 September 2022:
A lot has been said about the conflation of the State and ZANUPF, but there was no documented evidence, we now have it! ZANUPF Vice President Kembo Mohadi is drawing thousands of liters of fuel from Government to do ZANUPF business, and this is the definition of CORRUPTION!
This “expose” comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa sent Mohadi to attend the funeral of Japan’s Shinzo Abe.
Mohadi took a delegation of eight aides to the burial of the slain former Japanese prime minister prompting opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere to ask:
In what capacity did he attend? Is he representing the State, if so, on what basis? Or did he go on behalf of Zanu PF? Did the taxpayer fund the trip?
Mohadi resigned from the Vice President post in March 2021 following an expose of his alleged sexual scandals with his married aides.
