President Emmerson Mnangagwa Monday 02 October 2022 presided over the burial of liberation war fighter, Highten Nkomo, at the National Heroes Acre.
Nkomo, whose Chimurenga name was Billy Mzamo, died last week.
In his speech, President Mnangagwa described Nkomo as a distinguished patriot, freedom fighter and one of the pioneering veterans of Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle. He added:
We have lost an epitome of patriotism, commander and dedicated cadre who remained loyal to the Party and country, throughout his entire life.
