OpenGirl (6) Mauled By Dogs, Owner Charged With Culpable Homicide
A Goromonzi man has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide after his two Boer dogs killed a six-year-old girl.
In a statement posted on their social media page, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said that two dogs belonging to Justice Nyamutsamba (40), mauled to death the girl as she was playing with her friends.
Police said they have since killed the dogs and arrested the owner. ZRP said:
The ZRP reports a sad incident in which a six-year-old girl was mauled to death by two vicious Boer dogs whilst playing with friends on 13/10/22 at Dongo Village, Goromonzi.
The Police have since shot dead the dogs and the owner, Justice Nyamutsamba (40) is being charged with culpable homicide. Investigations are underway.
In an unrelated case, police in Chiredzi on Tuesday arrested Serudzai Magadzire (45) in connection with a case of murder which occurred on Monday at Village 3, Wasara Range, Chiredzi.
Police said Magadzire and his accomplice, Kenias Magadzire (21) who is still at large, fatally assaulted Benson Chikati (83).
The duo allegedly accused Chikati of witchcraft before attacking him with catapults and wooden sticks.
The victim passed away while waiting to be taken to the hospital.
