The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has announced fees and venues for accreditation to observe upcoming local authority by-elections. In a statement seen by Pindula News, ZEC said all applications must be received at ZEC Head Office no later than 16 October 2022. Reads the statement:
LOCAL AUTHORITY BY-ELECTIONS
APPLICATIONS FOR ACCREDITATION TO OBSERVE BY-ELECTIONS
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) hereby invites applications from observers and the media for accreditation to observe local authority by-elections in respect of Insiza Ward 4, Matobo Ward 2, Mutare Ward 18, Buhera Ward 24, Guruve Ward 4 and Chirumhanzu Ward 6.
All applications must be received at ZEC Head Office no later than 16 October 2022.
The accreditation of successful applicants shall be conducted between 8 AM and 4 PM at the following venues commencing on 17 October 2022 up to 22 October 2022.

Manicaland Province Mutare …… Ward 18 – Nyamauru Primary School

Mashonaland Central ………………… Guruve Ward 4 – Chimufombo Primary School
Midlands Province ……………………. Chirumhanzu Ward 6 – Holly Cross Mission Takawira

• Local observers ………………. USD10 or ZWL equivalent at the prevailing Bank rate.
• Observers from the continent of Africa …………………. USD 100
• Observers from foreign embassies in Zimbabwe …….. USD300
• Observers from any country outside Africa …………… USD400
• Observers from any country outside Africa …………… USD400
• Zimbabwean media practitioners accredited with the Zimbabwe Media Commission and working in Zimbabwe for foreign media houses ….. USD 100
• Zimbabwean local media practitioners accredited with the Zimbabwe Media Commission ….. USD10 or ZWL equivalent at the prevailing Bank rate.
