The government has challenged teachers who are set to leave for Rwanda under the Government-to-Government bilateral agreement to represent the country well.
A send-off ceremony for the 159 teachers was held at Morgan Zintec College in Harare on Wednesday.
Addressing the teachers at the function, the Deputy Minister for Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Lovemore Matuke, said:
I wish you well as you go to represent our country in Rwanda.
Be the Zimbabwean people we have known, who are hard-working, results-oriented and uphold Zimbabwean values, ethics and norms.
I call upon all of you to present a united front, determined to make a difference, and leave a trail of good work in Rwanda,
Be your brother’s keeper in the foreign land and remember ‘I am because we are’ – Ubuntu.
Go, therefore, and make us proud, lift the flag of Zimbabwe high.
I trust all of you and the results will speak for themselves in Rwanda.
