Woman Throws Her Children Into A Well Following A Dispute With Her Husband

A 37-year-old woman from Mubaira has been arrested after throwing her two minor kids into a 17-metre-deep well following a dispute with her husband. 

In a statement seen by Pindula News, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said one of the kids died while the elder one was rescued. Reads the statement:

ZRP Mubaira has arrested Shamiso Isaya (37) in connection with a case of infanticide which occurred at Katsande village, Mubaira, on 22/10/22.

It is alleged that Isaya threw her two children aged five months and three years, into a 17-metre-deep well after a misunderstanding with her husband.

The five-month-old female infant drowned, while the three-year-old boy was rescued by neighbours and rushed to a local clinic, where he was treated and discharged.

Mwanwhile, a pedestrian died on the spot after being hit by an unidentified vehicle along the Harare – Makumbe road on Saturday morning. In a statement seen by Pindula News, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the driver of the vehicle did not stop after the incident. Read the statement:

The ZRP is investigating a fatal hit-and-run road traffic accident that occurred at the 38 km peg along the Hre-Makumbe Road on 22/10/22 at around 0645 hours where an unknown motorist who was driving an unidentified vehicle hit a pedestrian & sped off. The victim died on the spot.

In a different case, ZRP Marlborough has arrested 19 suspects for prospecting gold without a license in Lowdale, Mazowe, on 22/10/22. Police recovered a generator, jack hummer, and a pump from the suspects.
