The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with an armed robbery which occurred in Bulawayo where a company lost properties worth over US$100 000.
A police report seen by Pindula News says police in Bulawayo acted on a tip-off and arrested Mpofu Dingani (44) and Thabisani Ndlovu (43) on the 2nd of November 2022 for armed robbery cases committed in Bulawayo between June 2019 and October 2020. Reads the report:
So far, the suspects are linked to four armed robbery cases, including the one they 2/2 pounced at a company at Corner Bon-Accord and Steel Works Roads, Bulawayo, where they stole a grinding meal, various car parts, and property worth US$102 000.
In a different case, police in Zvimba arrested Chriswell Maponga (42) on Wednesday for a case of stock theft in which he allegedly stole 16 cattle from two complainants in the Zvimba area between October and November 2022.
Police apprehended the suspect during the clearing procedure of 2/2 13 stolen cattle, which he intended to sell to a cattle buyer for US$2000. Police recovered the 13 cattle from the suspect, and the owners have since positively identified their cattle.
Meanwhile, the ZRP is investigating a murder case which occurred at a nightclub in Gwanda on Wednesday at around 0000 hours, where Tanaka Zingoni (19) was stabbed twice in the chest after a misunderstanding with four unknown suspects.
It is alleged that Zingoni was rushed to Gwanda Provincial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on admission.
Police have invited members of the public to approach any nearest Police station if they have information that can be used to solve the case.
