A Harare woman was arrested Tuesday after selling a vehicle she hired from a rental company located at the Robert Mugabe International Airport (RGMI).
A police report seen by Pindula News states that the woman, Barbra Vimbai Chitisuro, used fake details when she hired the vehicle. Reads the statement:
On 02/11/22, Police in Harare arrested Barbra Vimbai Chitisuro in connection with a case of theft of a motor vehicle which occurred in Harare, where she allegedly sold a Honda Fit vehicle (AFS 4457) which she had hired from a car rental company located at RGMI Airport. 2/2 The suspect had hired the car for a week and used a fake vehicle registration book to sell the car for US$4000 to a Harare car dealer. Police have since recovered the vehicle, which was on display at the car dealer’s garage.
Meanwhile, Harare police are investigating a case of baby dumping in which the body of an infant (approximately one-day-old) was found on the 2nd of November 2022 at a dump site at Retreat Supersands near Mugodhi Church.
Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information that can help in the case to contact any nearest Police Station.
