Haulage Truck "Destroys" Flamingo Tollgate Booth Between Gweru And Shurugwi

Flamingo Tollgate between Gweru and Shurugwi was reportedly destroyed by a haulage truck on Friday 04 November 2022.

In a statement seen by Pindula News, the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) said motorists may experience delays at the Tollgate. Reads the statement:

On 4 November 2022 at around 2300hrs our Flamingo Tollgate booth (Gweru to Shurugwi) was destroyed by a Haulage truck. We advise our valued motorists that they may experience delays due to connectivity challenges resulting from the accident damage to the equipment.

The driver of the Haulage Truck AFJ0301 left before the completion of the police assessment and processes. We appeal to the driver and owners of the vehicle to cooperate with ZINARA and @PoliceZimbabwe. The matter is being handled by ZRP Gweru Rural.

We are happy to report that there were no injuries to members of staff or other motorists . Our teams are working on restoring services to normalcy.

In July this year, ZINARA reported that the Mushagashe Tollgate had been “heavily damaged” by a haulage truck.
