FULL TEXT: ZANU PF Responds To Zhuwao, Jonathan Moyo Apology

Zimbabwe’s ruling party, ZANU PF has welcomed the apology that was issued by self-exiled former Cabinet ministers, Patrick Zhuwao and Jonathan Moyo.

In a letter seen by Pindula News, the duo apologised for associating itself with the opposition and championing the #ZanuPFMustGo movement. They say it was an ill-advised decision to endear themselves with the opposition.

In response, ZANU PF spokesperson, Chris Mutsvangwa said the apology was a “most welcome development.” Reads the response:

ZANU PF SPOKESPERSON CDE CRIS MUTSVANGWA RESPONDS TO MOYO AND ZHUWAO LETTER

Moyo and Zhuwau: This is the most welcome development. I salute the courage and candor coming from the two as penned in their joint letter. This is an endorsement of the sincere and visionary policies and programs espoused by President ED Mnangagwa, our ZANU PF Party leader. His message and conduct is coming across as he strives to unify the nation and reaches out to the wider world. We say the more the merrier in the all-embracing tent of ZANU PF, the mass party of the Zimbabwe Revolution. All Zimbabweans are equal in their varied capacities and talents. Better we join all our minds and hands in the noble task of building a new Zimbabwe.

Moyo and Zhuwao are among several former top government officials who skipped the country’s borders in 2017 following the ouster of the late former President Robert Mugabe.

They were accused of belonging to the defunct G-40 faction that was hostile to the Lacoste faction allegedly led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
