Three people were killed in a road traffic accident around 2.30 AM on Saturday along the Harare-Bulawayo Road, police have said.
According to a statement posted on the ZRP Twitter page, an Ashok Leyland Truck which was travelling towards Bulawayo with six passengers on board hit a trailer at the 382 km peg along Harare–Bulawayo Road.
Three people died, while three others were injured. The injured were ferried to Mpilo Central Hospital where they are admitted. Police said:
The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on 10/12/22 at around 0230 hours at the 382 km peg along Harare–Bulawayo Road, where three people died while three others were injured.
An Ashok Leyland Truck which was travelling towards Bulawayo with six passengers on board hit a trailer of a Haulage truck with no passengers on board, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The bodies of the victims were taken to United Bulawayo Hospital for post-mortem while the injured are admitted at Mpilo Hospital.
