Ramaphosa Gives Jacob Zuma Until Monday To Withdraw Private Prosecution Summons

South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa has given his predecessor, Jacob Zuma until Monday to withdraw the private prosecution summons he served on him.

A letter from the State Attorney to Zuma’s lawyers questions the former president’s timing of serving a summons on Ramaphosa a day before the beginning of the ANC’s national congress.

It also labels the summons as invalid and accuses Zuma of abusing legal processes.

The State Attorney says he may take further steps should Zuma fail to act on the demand by Monday.

Zuma on Thursday said he is prosecuting Ramaphosa privately.

He is accusing the president of being an accomplice in breaching provisions of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Act.

It’s in relation to a private prosecution Zuma is currently pursuing against prosecutor Billy Downer and journalist Karyn Maughan.

He accuses them of leaking his medical records but the president says Zuma is abusing legal processes and that he requires a certificate of non-prosecution from the NPA in order to initiate private prosecution.

Ramaphosa has also responded to assertions that he failed to act in the Downer matter.

He said he referred the matter to the Justice Minister, who has oversight of the NPA.

@Worzell the drama continues. The Zuma/Zulu/NDZ clawback has taken a new dimension. In suing Ramaphosa on the eve of the ANC Congress, what did Jacob Zuma (The Kangaman) hope to achieve? 1. Embarrass Cyril ahead of the Congress; 2. Force a "Step Aside" because any ANC cadre facing legal challenges cannot hold elective office; 3. Pave the way for NDZ floor nomination in the absence of Cyril as a competitor; 4. Whether Cyril wins the legal battle posed by Jacob 'Kangaman' it would be too late to contest the ANC Presidency. I foresee a complete flop of this tactic. Already the process is flawed - Kangaman did not get NPA authority for a private prosecution in time for Congress. Therefore the letter of demand in technically a nullity and can safely be ignored. Ramaphosa is poised to be ANC president. Can NDZ get a floor nomination? Can the Zuma/Zulu/NDZ clique engineer a split within the ANC? Tonight the issue of the presidency is to be resolved. The fate of NDZ is to be known within the next few weeks. If I were a betting man, I would say 5:2 NDZ will be jobless soon and the Zuma/Zulu fraction is a no-hopper

Is Zulu Lindiwe?

Not really. Lindiwe and Zweli Mkhize I think are only pawns on the chessboard. I believe they're being used as dipsticks to gauge the temperature/oil levels. The real puppeteers are Ķangaman, Nkosazana and the former Secretary General (his name skips my mind). Those 3 ate playing the tribal card . zulus are the most populous single tribe and KZN is their base and NDZ their hope for salvation. With NDZ in the presidency Kangaman's legal woes should end

@Machiavelli. 😂😂😂. Yah. Msholozi (JZ) is quiet sly & sneaky. The litigation is a Sucker Punch on CR-17, when he least expected it. Gotta give it to the Kangaman though. It's was a well played strategy. 1⃣ Frivolous as the litigation may seem, it's a test of principles. Does the "step aside" policy equally apply to all ANC cadres without exception. That's including H.E. Rhamaposa. Will there be selective application of principles & policies where CR17 is an exception? If so, CR will look like a hypocrite who thinks the rules don't apply to him. 2⃣ If the ANC ignores the litigation & proceeds with certain processes that should be halted pending court outcomes, then the ANC under CR will have shown a lack of respect for state institutions & that they are above the law. 3⃣ Will CR respect state institutions the way he demands it of others? Or will he cherry pick what he likes & leave the rest for others like JZ. 4⃣ As for NDZ, I have come to the conclusion that she currently cannot garner enough national nominations to take over the ANC presidency. However, I believe that if she is jettisoned out of the ANC she can do her 2 cents worth of damage by forming a Zulu based political with support from the likes of Duduzane Zuma, JZ, Ace Magas**** et al. 5⃣ Please spare time to watch the 3 American series, House of Cards & Billions, if you haven't already. The drama & intrigue in these political works of fiction is akin to the Zuma/CR17 debacle currently playing out in SA. You can download them on goojara.com or kickasstorrents.com ....
