South Africa: Two Women Killed As Gunmen Attack Zimbabwean-bound Bus

Two women were shot and killed when three armed men attacked a Zimbabwean-bound bus in the Bel-Bela area in Limpopo province in South Africa on Thursday morning.

One other woman was left seriously injured following the shooting.

The bus was travelling from Pretoria to Harare when tragedy struck.

No arrests have been made yet while investigations are already underway, the Chronicle reported citing Limpopo police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police is urging all motorists travelling to and from Mutare to be cautious following an accident involving a truck at the peak of the Christmas Pass. In a statement seen by Pindula News, police said:

Motorists travelling from Mutare must stop at the foot of the Christmas Pass and follow police instructions to use the upper level, reduce speed and keep to the left. NO OVERTAKING is allowed. 

Motorists travelling to Mutare must use left lane ONLY to go up the Christmas Pass and follow hand signals by the police officers. NO OVERTAKING or use of right overtaking lane is being allowed as the lane is being used by traffic coming from Mutare.

 All drivers to exercise extreme caution.

Police said some officers were making efforts to clear the accident scene.
