Fugitive Suspected Cop Killer Jaison Muvhevhi Arrested | Report

A former Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer, Jaison Muvhevhi, who has been on the run since Friday last week after he allegedly shot and killed three people including a senior police officer has been arrested.

He was arrested on Monday morning by Mozambican police in Manica Province a few minutes after crossing the border, reported The Herald.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) had not yet confirmed Muvhevhi’s arrest.

A video posted on Twitter by ZimLive shows men who appear to be Mozambican police officers wrestling the suspect who is lying on the ground while they tie his hands with a rope. Watch the video below:

Muvhevhi allegedly shot and killed a white garment church leader at his shrine before killing a senior police officer and seriously injuring another.

He is also accused of fatally shooting another person at a nearby shopping centre.

Muvhevhi reportedly fled into a mountain in the Chiduku area on Saturday after another shootout with the police.

He reportedly abandoned his car, some goods and an FN rifle which he had taken from some police officers in Wedza after overpowering them.

we will wait confirmation from police national spokesperson for confirmation. It would appear those who manhandled him are amateurs and seem not to be sure of the identity.Time will tell but who was so brave to manhandle an armed trained killer, police failed to capture him in Rusape only to be captured by unarmed mutare mob.

He didn't commit suicide, his only option was to go to Mozambique as we have just read.If suicide was his ONLY option we would be reading that he committed suicide.Got it

didn't get it...is it wrong to say he had many options...eg he could have surrendered to the authorities amongst other options some next to impossible eg he could have gone to south africa or zambia...
