Rufaro Marketing Boss Suspended For Serious Misconduct
Rufaro Marketing Pvt Ltd chief executive Daniel Mutiwadirwa has been suspended without salary and benefits, as well as from handling any company business.
Mutiwadirwa was suspended for allegedly refusing to furnish important documents to the Obey Shava-led board which intended to sift through the company’s financials, according to the City of Harare.
In a letter written to Mutiwadirwa, Shava accused the former of committing an act of serious misconduct. He said:
The employer has good cause for believing that you have committed serious misconduct in that you contravened Section 4(b) of the Code i.e. S.I. 15 of 2006 by ‘willfully disobeying lawful orders in one or more of the following ways; i. ii. On 13 January 2023, the Chairman of the Rufaro Marketing Board instructed you to issue a Notice to all Board Members convening an extraordinary general meeting on Wednesday, the 18th of January 2023 at 1430hrs.
Despite the written instruction, you have refused, failed and/or neglected to convene that meeting.
On the same date, 13 January 2023 the Chairman also requested you to furnish him with copies of the lease agreements in respect of all the Rufaro Marketing tenants and the contracts of employment in respect of all its employees by the 16th of January 2023.
Despite that clear and unequivocal instruction, you refused, failed and or neglected to provide the requested documents and information.
