Freeman Chari Warns Chamisa Zimbabweans Are Tired Of His Bible Quotes

United States-based Zimbabwean software engineer Freeman Chari has warned CCC leader Nelson Chamisa that he risks finding himself in the political dustbin if he continues to centralise and personalise the party while excluding other people.

In an X thread, Chari also warned Chamisa that Zimbabweans are tired of Bible verses which he posts on social media regularly, and that he should ensure that supporters can contribute and participate in the party’s activities and in crafting its vision. Wrote Chari:

1. Here is what is happening. Prior to the elections, there were 3 groups of people. – Those who supported Chamisa & CCC – Those who supported CCC in spite of Chamisa – Those who supported Chamisa in spite of CCC. CCC in this case is the grp of people who loosely are remnants of MDC.

2. There is also another nomenclature. – Those whose political fortunes flourished by association with NC – Those whose political fortunes dimmed by being sidelined from NC.

3. The only thing common in these classifications was the general agreement that ZANU PF has to go. The formation of CCC was abrupt & haphazard. There was no consensus on what this animal was, how it was going to operate and who will operate it. Disdain of ZANU kept people together.

4. Initially we thought people were carrying over their responsibilities from MDC-A but slowly the idea of a formless entity was pushed. This had 2 issues. There were no responsibilities and there was no accountability. Everything became centralized and inefficient.

5. The impact of this was there for all to see. Nobody could move unless directed by the only person who seemed to have a position – Nelson. Those who had critical responsibilities started abdicating and those gaps could be seen. Within CCC people spoke about this in hushed tones.

6. This is important in the context of the 2nd nomenclature. The biggest calculation by most of the “leaders” in CCC was that, opposing NC publicly was a bigger risk to their own parliamentary ambitions. So people went on & even supported bad decisions for their own interests.

7. It became a festival of bootlicking. Now, there is also a group of people to which I belong who felt that NC was the best foot forward and should be given the leeway to test his ideas so that if he wins he wins by them, or if he fails he fails on his own inadequacies.

8. The assumption was that only rational ideas were going to be pursued. The doctrine of strategic ambiguity became his primary weapon. Even those of us who supported him sometimes had no idea what he wanted, expected or intended to do. It became hard to be proactive.

9. There were others who chose to disengage completely because they felt NC was taking the movement in the wrong direction. Most of the people I have worked with previously in MDC and other social organizations were in this category.

10. As we got closer to elections, it became clear that the process of choosing candidates was not going to be a traditional vote by members (Since CCC doesn’t have any) The process itself was shady & shoddy but for the purposes of the greater goal we swept stuff under the carpet.

11. The process produced candidates some of whom were there on the basis of bootlicking or gatekeeping or blatant backstabbing. We went into a flawed election and supported them. The problem is that for most of them being an MP or councillor was an ultimate end goal.

12. If you want to know some of them, they took ma $40K in the last parliament and justified it in spite of our general disdain for fiscal maleficence. You will also find that they are the same people who pushed for participating even with a flawed delimitation, no VR & no reforms.

13. When it became clear that the election was going to be unfair, the same group would not contemplate pulling out. Even as I & others advised NC that he needed to declare the whole electoral process a sham, “The Parliament By All Means” group pushed back.

14. So we ended up with an incoherent response to the sham elections where we accepted MP results and then claimed: “The election was rigged”. The “Defend our space” crowd weakened our position & made it hard to even justify. My opinion remains we should have rejected everything!

15. The unfortunate part is that NC’s position was weakened by the fact that some MPs claimed they had used their own resources to campaign and therefore needed to recoup their investments somehow from parliament etc.

16. We are now in a position where our people don’t know what to expect. They have no idea what should happen next. This is complicated by the fact that people who traditionally filled in certain positions have new responsibilities and nobody is there to keep CCC intact.

17. Anyway, remember the group that supported CCC in spite of NC most of them fell by the wayside in the struggle for parliament. The unfortunate part is that this group has most of the people who have institutional memory, understand statecraft & experience in building organisations.

18. They have disengaged and at the same time, the grp that used to fill in the gaps and plug holes are either Mayors, MPs or Councillors. They have new responsibilities, now the party’s buttocks are in the open and no one seems available to cover them.

19. This has provided an opportunity for those who opposed NC to go for the jugular. The biggest challenge for NC is that he is exposed and has no shock absorbers around him to defend & articulate his vision & strategy. Every arrow aimed at him seems to be hitting him.

20. On the other hand, the people going after him have nothing new to offer. They are not going to win because they are not capable of doing anything differently from NC. Actually, anything they may have as leverage NC probably has 10x that.

21. To be an alternative to Chamisa you should be willing to explore the realms that NC has not explored in the past – Mass Protests – Violence – War etc None of those wanting to dislodge him have the willingness or inclination for these.

22. NC has one card that most of these people do not have – mass appeal. Unfortunately, things can turn & he can become a comma in history. Remember Zexie Manatsa used to fill Rufaro Stadium but like dew, he evaporated. The 2016 rise of Mawarire is a lesson, he could have taken chunhu.

23. The task at hand is to build CCC & restore faith is huge. What I don’t know is whether NC has the capacity to handle it. It requires him to do things differently from his form. He will need to rely on other people, he will also need to accept that his ideas were tested & came short.

24. Finally, people are tired of verses. They need direction. They need to know if the struggle is OK. They need assurances that investing their resources, time and emotions in this thing is worth it. Provide a conduit for them to be members so they can contribute & participate!

Dear Patriots Considering the hulabaloo over the Tshabangu saga ,I am convinced beyond doubt that the whole effort is a well orchestrated attack on the CCC. The objective was .(a) to create a constitutional crisis (b) accentuate a power vacuum (c) encourage a scramble for positions (d) divide the party on tribal lines (e) have Zanu PF control the narrative (f) force NC into litigation under captured courts (g) plant moles in the CCC structures (h) cultivate bad publicity for CCC and Chamisa Hats off to FUZ and the guys in dark shades.

RE: THE CHARI DEPOSITION Many thanx to Mr Chari for his incisive views. I had always wondered if Chamisa had a think tank around him, now it's confirmed. I admit I am not political inclined and do not know Chamisa's political ideolology and strategic approach. Nonetheless, as an analyst I have a lot of interest in African /Zimbabwean political thought and development. Methinx Chari's submission makes a lot of sense in that CCC needs to transform into a credible political organization propped up by a constitutional framework , elected officials and explicit political ideology. The movement is in need of a decentralized organizational structure which will avail a clear & democratic work ethic away from the present opaque methods of administrative effort. It may have been advantageous ,at one point ,not to have an organized structure nor elected members but that period is now past . An elective assembly is now a necessity. The Tshabangu debacle is proof enough. I hope and pray Chamisa will accent to Chari's proposal inorder for the movement to elevate to a new progressive level. Asante Sana

@Observer. You are spot on. Hopefully CCC supporters will catch-on and press for formalisation. A serious party needs official office bearers and many technocratic advisors. Politics involves too many daunting and exhausting issues that cannot be handled by one man. Chamisa has so much potential which are being hampered by his mulishness.

Kkkkk babamunini needs collective leadership, now that ed has given dialogue conditions that include every political leader when he talked down everyone, we are waiting to see the clever very clever babamunini, sidelining biti, ncube who have negotiated with zanu before for childish ostalos and mahere has terribly weakened his position, tshabangu is steadfast, this chaos may expose him big time, these voluntary organisations need power balancing, to me his support is based on emotions and hatred for zanu that is why questioning him is taboo but this chaos may bear a new leader, lets take prof. Mandaza, if ed reached to him for talks and chamisa gave him cold shoulder what happens now, ed won, sadc have thrown chamisa under the bus after childish and uncultured made mouthing - he needs fellow comrades more than before i mean all including inkomichi, dhagie, mudzuri etc to put a collective strategy not theatrics and day dreaming

👏👏👏👏👏. @Anonymous. That's true. Dambudziko nderekuti, kuona zvakajeka nekutaura panofanira kugadziriswa zvinotukisa nevamwe vanozviti tisu tega maCCC. Why should Zanu Pf trust a boy who cannot work with & reconcile with his own comrades in arms? Such a selfish person cannot be trusted. Even his blind supporters are not even members of his personalised party.

It is true that Freeman Chari is living in the United States of America where he is not very conversant with the CCC Political party. You can not separate God from politics. The Bible says "The.naive person believes easily, but the shrewed ponders step by step". Proverbs 14 verse 15. Advocate Nelson Chamisa wants to think deeply first before he takes a decision. If Freeman Chari wants to dislodge Nelson Chamisa, he should wait for the Congress. Advocate Nelson Chamisa does not force people to hang around him. Those who want to go can go. Those who want to contest him at the Congress can do so. Advocate Nelson Chamisa does not rush into quick decisions. The Bible says, "The naive person believes easily, but the shrewed one ponders step by step". Proverbs 14 vs15. Please do not attribute this verse to Advocate Nelson Chamisa.. The bone of contention is between Advocate Chamisa and His Excellency Advocate President ED Mnangagwa. Yes, generally elections were not conducted in terms of the Constitution, and according to the regional and International standards. CCC Members of Parliament were allowed to join ZANU PF in Parliament because the elections were rigged mostly on Chamisa. Freeman Chari can form his party and leave Advocate Nelson Chamisa alone. Other citizens shall be there for him. This is my story and I am sticking to it. [ THE BUSH LAWYER4CCC ].

@Chawabvunza. Freeman Chari from Chivi, was the Chairman of the Students Representative Assembly (SRA) at UZ from 2003-2004. Gift Nyandoro was the SRC president then. Freeman & I were ZINASU general councillors under Phillani Zamchiya from Chipinge. We were NCA members under Lovemore Madhuku. We were SST members under McDonald Lewanika and above all we were MDC UZ Branch cadres. Chamisa was the National Youth Chairperson at that time. So you see. Freeman knows Chamisa personally. More than you or anybody else here on Pindula. Chari knows and understands Zimbabwean politics more than you could ever think. It was a scholarship sourced by Tsvangirai that sent Freeman to the USA. That Freeman created MANDLA for CCC is not happenstance. There are innumerable former students activists & current civil society leaders who networked and fundraised to make MANDLA and PACHEDU possible. Religion & God should never be used to justify cowardice & cluelessness. Action and inclussivity were responsible for Tsvangirai's success. Tsvangirai worked with the Zimbabwe Council of Churches, the CBC & EFZ, but he never hid behind meaningless bible verses. He never threw away the MDC Constitution or prevented formal membership despite the attacks and infiltration.

Learn to be thankful. MANDLA was / is an excellent scientific vote protection innitiative. Chamisa is squarely to blame. Nero did not pay many CCC election agents even up to now. He did not deploy elections agents in all polling stations. The donation for polling agents was looted. The result was, Freeman could not upload all V11s on MANDLA on time. Because CCC did not give him all the V11s. MANDLA and Pachedu are the only ones who audited the voter's role and expossed many discrepencies which Chamisa did not use. Even the lawyers in CCC could not do anything because Chamisa prevented them by impossing himself as the only person authorised to take action in CCC. So you see? Its all Chimisa's fault. Pachedu, Freeman and MANDLA did their best. Chamisa never thanked them up to now, because the Pachedu team are volunteers who were helping Zimbabweans. Chamisa never gave Pachedu a single kobo. Pachedu ran a go fund me to support its own innitiative. Chamisa never officially recognised or officially endorsed MANDLA. I remember Freeman Chari used to beg CCC supporters to go to polling stations for the mapping exercise. Yet Chamisa & his handpicked MPs kept quite about it. Fsdzai Mahere is the only one who used to support MANDLA until she was unceremoniously fired from the CCC Spokesperson position. Tendaiwo mwana wemumwe munhu Please. Freeman did his best. What did you do?

Thank you Freeman Chari for that incisive analysis. Indeed you are a free man and a free thinker. Myself & a few perceptive individuals like @Maparamuro have made similar observations over and over again on Pindula and elsewhere. I particularly love where Freeman says; "...remember the group that supported CCC in spite of NC. Most of them fell by the wayside in the struggle for parliament. The unfortunate part is that this group has most of the people who have institutional memory, who understand statecraft & have experience in building organisations. They have disengaged..., " because they were badly treated in the heat of directinless excitement. You see. Mukomana became DRUNK WITHOUT POWER and as usual, he trampled on many toes without a care as to what happens tomorrow. True leaders always preserve institutional memory, institutinal culture and they protect institutional assets. Tendai Biti is one such institutional asset. In March 2008, Tsvangirai won elections when Biti was the Secretary General. Tendai Biti wrote the Kariba draft Constitution which later guided the COPAC process. He was part of the negotiators for the GNU and he performed exceptionally well during the GNU as minister of Finance. Sadly, Mukomana felt threatened by Biti, because Biti is a true academic who did not buy degrees, a true Lawyer and a true statesman. So Biti was eliminated through rigging. Now, the saddest part is how CCC supporters have been indoctrinated to hate reason. CCC supporters no longer have time for reflection and analysis. They insult any voice of reason. Whereas, politics is a complex science involving many academic disceplines. But the dunderheads are the majority in CCC, and they drown out the talented thinkers with their unscientific blind faith and pledges of allegiance to a religious dictator. I now understand why Pastors and fake prophets rape and steal with impunity. They have the blind support of wishful thinkers, who blindly believe that God will deploy a battallion of angels to run free and fair elections in Zimbabwe. Well guess what? There is no democracy and no Elections in heaven.

do u trust Tendai biti welshman Ncube those are sellouts they sell morgan cheaply
WORZELL GUMMIDGE · 1 year ago
@rms. Thats Chamisa's propaganda. Tendai Biti was never a sellout and he never worked with Zanu Pf despite forming the PDP with the likes of Elton Mangoma, Promise Mkwananzi, Jacob Mafume, Kucaca Phulu & many others. Unlike Chamisa who had business dealings with Mugabe and Gushungo Dairies. It was Chamisa's treachery which saw Tendai Biti leaving the MDC-T. Chamisa and Biti had agreed to form the PDP together. Because Tsvangirai had become a dictator who did not want to pass the button through a Congress. Chamisa only stayed behind because he had been promised a powerful position. So tricked others to leave & he stayed behind. That's why Chamisa was later imposed as Vice President alongside Mudzuri & Khupe. Chamisa had actually betrayed and denounced Tsvangirai to Robert Mugabe and he was punished when Mwonzora became the SG. As for welshaman Ncube, it was disagreement on whether to participate in the 2005 elections which introduced the Senate system or not. Tsvangiral later realised his mistake and brought all his former teamates back through the MDC Alliance. The splits were never about treachery. They were a result of elimation & power consilidation. Propaganda was used to label anyone chased out of the MDC as a traitor, a CIO or Zanu PF. I will find opportunities to narrate the full details of those splits at some other point.

When will people understand that God does not exist and that there is no such place as heaven. Religion is the cause of much pain and suffering.
