According to journalist Zenzele Ndebele, ZANU PF activists were moving along 5th Street from Robert Mugabe Street to Lobengula Street checking if the vendors are registered to vote. He tweeted:
Less than 45Min after @CityofBulawayo municipal police removed vendors on 5th Ave. ZANU PF Nehanda District Chairman Josiah Mutangi addressed the vendors at the large city hall and told them to go back to their vending places
Zanu guys now moving along 5th street from R Mugabe to Lobengula street checking if the vendors are registered to vote.
Those not registered are being encouraged to go and register to vote at ZEC. Those who fail to register by end of this week will lose their vending spaces
In addition to that, all those vendors who are not registered under ward 1 (city centre) should transfer and ensure they vote under ward 1. They should also produce proof of transfer from ZEC.
