Baba Harare‘s show that was scheduled for Chitungwiza has been cancelled due to the police’s failure or refusal to clear it, the Zimbabwean jiti musician announced.
Baba Harare, who used to play the lead guitar for Jah Prayzah before he launched a solo career, posted on social media expressing his disappointment:
It is with great disappointment that I have to inform you that my scheduled show in Chitungwiza has been cancelled. Police did not give us clearance to perform. I was looking forward to see Jiti family in Chitungwiza but zvakona.
Responding to comments of his followers who were making fun of the situation, Baba Harare born Braveman Chizvino, said:
While I appreciate people making light and jokes of the situation. Kwatiri it’s not a joke. This is our livelihood our bread and butter.
Baba Harare who rose to fame in 2017 after releasing “The Reason Why,” leads The City Vibration band.
Some comments on his post urged local artistes to consider going abroad since the Zimbabwean environment was no longer conducive for artistes to thrive. One comment read:

Baba Harare’s show was cancelled barely hours after Zimdancehall chanter, Winky D was dragged off the stage on Saturday night while performing in Chitungwiza.
