OpenHigh Court Judge Wants Church Founders To Have Theology Certificates

A High Court judge has called for the enactment of laws that make it mandatory for founders of new churches to be holders of at least certificates in theology to curb abuses perpetrated by bogus religious leaders.
Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Maxwell Takuva said that there should be strict requirements for the formation of new churches to eradicate cases of child sexual abuse and early child marriages.
He was speaking during the official opening of the 2023 Legal Year on Monday. The Chronicle quoted Justice Takuva as saying:
The legislature, in my view, should consider introducing a draft law on religious freedoms and worship to discipline some behaviour and excesses of certain religious denominations.
The new law may provide for the requirements for the registration of a new religious organisation.
It would be of some assistance in my view to have as a requirement for the establishment of a new church, that its leaders must at least hold a certificate in theology.
The question then becomes whether or not it is desirable for the State to regulate the activities of certain religious groups and churches in this country.
In my view, the State should step in to regulate the activities of those religious groups or institutions with obscure purposes for example those which promote child marriages and child sexual abuse.
Some churches, especially white garment religious sects, have been accused of abetting the sexual exploitation of young women by turning a blind eye to early child marriages.
Early child marriages are prohibited in the country in terms of the law and the New Marriages Act.

The learned judge is furthering the interests of his kingdom by attacking (read persecuting) Christianity. He is obviously not a Christian. In this world, one either belongs to light or darkness. There are no neutrals, not even mortal judges.

While the judge's call is logical, it is not theological. God doesn't appoint people by education. Who teaches teachers? Who sets exams for pastors? Are the educators theologically spirit filled themselves?

This high court judge is probably an atheist hiding behind some form a belief known to himself and it seems he has a personal vendetta against the church and it's leaders. He knows very well that very few people qualify under his proposed vetting criteria. He is targeting those who the elite look down and frown upon just like Jesus was looked down upon by the well-to-do of his time. Infact Good chooses the down trodden of society to carryout his mandate in the earth. Essentially the judge is fighting God and will not win the battle. This is the rise of christian persecution in this country of ours.. As church I urge all brothers and sisters in Christ to do all we can to wedge a war against such law or requirements though our war is not physical but spiritual.

Rather encourage them to seek more bible knowledge, than saying for one to open a church should have a certificate.

"Early child marriages are prohibited in the country in terms of the law and the New Marriages Act."-this high court judge is ignorant of the law that prohibits early child marriage, so commanding founders of new churches to have a certificate, diploma or degree does not stop anyone from abusing children especially the girl child. We thought since he is educated he should have known that education in not passport for being immune to committing crimes. He must come up with another reason to support his argument for enacting such law as he proposes. Jesus was not educated but he was anoited and always at crossroads with the learned critics of his time, the pharisees and Sadducees
