"Tshabangu Is An Imposter", CCC Responds To "Recall" Of 15 MPs, 17 Councillors

The opposition Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) has scoffed at a letter penned by one Sengezo Tshabangu claiming to have recalled 15 CCC MPs and 17 councillors, among them the mayor of Masvingo City, Shantel Chiwara and the chairperson of the Epworth Local Board, Annah Sande.

Tshabangu, who claims to be the CCC interim Secretary General, wrote to the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Winston Chitando, purporting to recall the MPs and councillors.

In the letter dated 03 October 2023, Tshabangu said the elected officials have ceased to be members of CCC.

Responding to the development, CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi said Tshabangu is an imposter adding that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is aware of the party’s signatories. He posted on X:

We note the desperation of an impostor who is masquerading as a member of CCC.

CCC has clear signatories known to ZEC and have the mandate of the party.
These people cannot abuse the name of our leader and the brand of our Party.
Following, a devastating defeat in the election, ZANU PF has resorted to desperate measures in sponsoring impostors to destabilize the party.

Tshabangu is a former MDC-T and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) official believed to have signed letters that produced CCC double candidates in the 23 August 2023 Harmonised Elections.

PDP was a political party that was officially launched on 11 September 2015 and led by former Finance Minister Tendai Biti.

The leader of CCC (Chinhu Chiye Chazonyatsooora) claimed that he runs a citizens based movement with no structures. Anybody (including reading this can wake up today and claim to be a member). What evidence will be placed before the courts to prove that a Zimbabwean is not a member of CCC. During elections campaign time the dear leader even claimed that the thousands of Zanu PF supporters who were being bussed to rallies were his supporters.

There are people who should be made to be seen and known to all those they claim to belong to, and this person is one whose photo should be shown to those he claims he belongs to so that they can give witness. Reporters should not hide such people who claim to be having very high posts in organisations, unless the reporters are part of an agenda..

Is CCC a political party? Political parties have structures but CCC does not. Mkwanazi is not a member of CCC because the organisation has no membership and no structures so he is speaking as who?

There is no template for political participation,. If you believe in ZEC you should believe that CCC is a qualified political party.

@triple see structures are required for a good reason, where we have established structures the people will know the people who represent the organisation at various levels. Mudenda would know who represents the party in such cases , we would also know and would actually laugh at the comedy in front of us because we would know for sure that Tshabangu is just a comedian. The reason why the letter has made headlines is because people don't know who is supposed to do the communication for the party at that level. The reason given for not having structures is not valid even for a grade 1 child who knows in the family there is mom and dad, brothers, sisters, uncle's and unties

🤣🤣Politics haisisiri yekuteedzera in Zim. Zanu Pf must me removed by the army. CCC cannot rely on the courts becoz they are ruled by ED. The army must come to their senses and see that Zanu is abusing our minerals and selling them to China and Russia. Zanu sold several of our elephants to the UAE imagine. Now the Arabs don't need to fly to Zim to see elephants since they already bought ours. They can fly to Tanzania just to see them in their habitat not Zim.

Yes. Tshabanga is an imposter. CCC has no Structures, no Constitution & no Members. Chamisa is the only Member, the only Structure and his word is the only Constitution in CCC. Everyone else is just a supporter. Jacob Mudenda will recognise the recalls and this matter will definately end up in Court. But the CCC said the courts are captured. It seems that only ZEC can testify & rescue CCC by confirming who the real CCC signatories are. The same ZEC which accepted unauthorised signatories. The same ZEC which the CCC said ZEC rigged elections. The matter will be tried in the captured Courts. I have said it again & again that Zanu PF wants to regain a two thirds majority in parliament. It seems likely to happen soon. Promise Mkwananzi is also a firmer PDP Youth SG.
