After successfully hosting the 2022 edition, Confederation
of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that it will retain
Morocco as host of 2024 Women African Cup of Nations
(WAFCON).
The North African country staged the just concluded
edition in July where Bayana Bayana of South Africa
emerged the winner after beating the host women team
also known as Atlas Lioness 2-1 in the final clash.
According to Heritage Times, Morocco were granted the
hosting rights after other African countries failed to submit
a bid with the North Africans the only country to do so,
and as a result, they were named automatic hosts.
However, the continent’s football soccer body is yet to
determine the modalities for qualifiers ahead of the
biennial showpiece in two years time.
Feelers suggest that it could be played at the regional
level, just as it was done en route the 2022 edition.
This year’s edition has already produced four qualified
African representatives for 2023 Women World Cup.
They are South Africa, Morocco, Zambia and Nigeria.
Despite losing out in the semi-final of the 2022 WAFCON,
Nigeria’s Super Falcons remained the most successful
team in the tournament with nine record titles.

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced new fuel prices effective 05 October 2023.
The price of diesel is now US$1.79 per litre, up from US$1.76, while the price of petrol has remained US$1.65.
ZERA added:

The public and operators are advised that the blending ratio is at E20. Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations.
