"You Can't Please Everyone", Macheso Responds to Critics Of "Kupa Kuturika" Album
Sungura musician Alick Macheso says it’s impossible to please everyone, particularly in light of the criticism surrounding his new album, Kupa Kuturika, released on August 2, 2024.
Macheso has chosen a unique strategy for this six-track album, opting to release songs individually; currently, four tracks are available on his YouTube channel.
Critics have expressed their disappointment, with some labelling him “a spent force” who now relies on past successes and has lost the magic that once made him a superstar.
Conversely, his devoted fans have praised the new release as a masterful work of art.
In an interview with H-Metro‘s Rest Mutore, Macheso said that criticism fuels his motivation to improve as an artist and encourages him to continue working hard. He said:

In response to commentators who say his music has evolved over the years, Macheso likened it to cars: while the model may change, the essence of the brand remains constant. He said:
