Allan Johnson is a Zimbabwean footballer who has featured for Zimbabwe junior sides and the senior men's team. He also played for Air Zimbabwe Jets, Motor Action Football Club and South African club Hellenic. He is a soccer youth developer and coach who has his own academy.

Background

Allan Johnson was born on 24 April 1979 in Gweru to Monalisa and Horst Schawrz who is of German descent. Johnson has two sisters, Marina Khan and Zainub Ibrahiam. He is married to Leila and together they have two children; Azriel and Saliah. Johnson uses his maternal Grandmother's surname.

Education

Allan attended David Livingstone Primary School then Prince Edward High School for his Form 1 to 6.

Career

Johnson played in the Prince Edward High School first team from form 3 where he played alongside Spencer Banda, Tonderai Ndiraya and Fungai Kwashi. It was during this period that he started to play professionally for Division 2 side, Alexander Football Club.

From Alex the 17 year old Allan joined Arcadia United Football Club alongside Prince Matore and Shepherd Muradzikwa. After Arcadia he moved on to newly promoted Air Zimbabwe Jets before moving to Motor Action Football Club. He was bought by South African team Hellenic where he spent 2 years.

He came back in Zimbabwe and played once again for Motor Action. It is during this period that he started coaching. After retiring, Johnson set up soccer academies aimed at youth development in soccer.

Johnson has also played for the junior and senior teams for Zimbabwe.
