Ali Cassim is a Zimbabwean footballer who plays for Lynx Rangers Football Club as a mid-fielder. He is a former Dynamos Football Club player.

Education

Cassim first enrolled at the [[University of Zimbabwe for a BSc in Electrical Engineering in 2003 but failed to continue his studies because he failed to raise the required fees. He later enrolled at the Harare Institute of Technology in 2009 under a scholarship from the Football Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ)[2] He graduated in October 2014 with an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering. Apart from graduating with a degree, Cassim was also awarded the Vice Chancellor's First Prize for Best Graduating Student in Electronic Engineering, Institronics Best Graduating Student and Best Security and Surveillance Systems Design.[1][3]

Career

Cassim joined Dynamos as a junior in 1996 while he was in grade 7. His first premier league match was against Lancashire Steel in 2003. When he failed to raise fees to pursue his degree program he concentrated on his footballing career fulltime. In 2007 he left Dynamos to join Gunner Football Club. He joined Eagles Football Club after his stint with Gunners and that is when he picked up an injury that ended his footballing career. He was awarded a scholarship by the Football Union of Zimbabwe after he approached them for assistance.[1] He now plays for Lynx Ranger Football club in the Zifa Division two.
