Andy Blignaut is a Zimbabwean born former cricket player.

Background

Blignaut was born in the then Rhodesia present day Zimbabwe on August 1, 1978.[1]

Career

Andy Blignaut had a quite successful career with the zimbabwe senior side. One of the most outstanding performances in his career was a wicket hat trick against Bangladesh.[1] After some friction with the Zimbabwe Cricket board over monies owed to him, he quit playing for the national team and went on to play for the Lions in South Africa. He was also part of the "rebel" players that were involved in a stand off with the Zimbabwe cricket board after which he and others were expelled. Blignaut surfaced again in 2010, a period in which other key players also returned. He signed for Matabeleland Tuskers and was also picked for the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean, as well as the home tri-series with India and Sri Lanka.[1]
